AP Exams
This year Advanced Placement Exams will be given from May 2 through May 12. The College Board charges students $92.00 for each exam they elect to take. Students that score a 3 or higher on the AP exams may qualify to receive college credit based upon their score.
There are some fee reductions offered by the College Board and the State of Michigan. Unfortunately, the state government has not yet distributed those subsidies. However, the AP organization does anticipate further subsidies for students that meet income eligibility requirements. If your student qualifies for the reduced lunch program you will also be entitled to the reduced rate.
Exams must be taken on the scheduled day and time. If exams are ordered and not taken, they must be returned to the College Board and you will be charged a $15.00 fee per exam. If your student misses the exam that he/she is scheduled to take and needs to take it on a late testing date, the company will charge an additional $45.00 plus the $15.00 return fee, since a different exam is given on the late testing date.
Registration forms will be distributed by March with all available subsidies detailed. All registration forms and checks must be returned to relevant AP instructors. Checks should be made payable to: South Lake High School.
